THE BENEFITS OF THE USE OF STINGING NETTLE
IN HERBAL PREPARATIONS

STINGING NETTLE - PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
In North America, stinging nettle is not a widely-used plant.  Americans do not as yet understand the amazing power of this herb.  I have used it to alkalize an acidic condition in the body, and as a nutritional supplement.  I have also used it as a hair rinse with excellent results, and to increase lactation.  As a result of my studies, I now have relatives and friends putting stinging nettle to use.  My sister-in-law is anemic and taking the nettle in capsulated form.  My father-in-law has BPH and is taking a preparation of nettle, saw palmetto, and pygeum in hopes of relieving his condition.  A colleague has collected and used nettle to relieve her seasonal allergies.  She says that her condition is always cleared up within a week.  She also prescribes it for her clients, whose muscle response tests indicate the need, and “it really seems to work.”

I selected stinging nettle as a thesis topic in order to learn more about its medicinal properties.  I now have the knowledge and information to enable me to be more assertive with the stinging nettle plant in my personal herbal practice.
