THE BENEFITS OF THE USE OF KAVA KAVA
IN HERBAL PREPARATIONS

KNOWN HERBAL FORMULAS OF KAVA KAVA

Like all herbs there are probably thousands of companies that carry kava. There are a few companies that I consider to be more reputable which have included kava in their formulations. Among the more reputable companies is Herb Pharm, which is America’s leading liquid extract company. In addition to the extracted form of kava they also encapsulate it and have it in their good mood tonic. They promote kava as being for frustration, peaceful relaxation and stress reduction. Olympian Labs contains Kava in their anxiety formula called AnxietyX. The Yogi Tea Company has included a tea called Kava Stress Relief tea as a natural anxiety relief tea. I have bought it for the herb shop and have received good feedback on it. The tea includes kava, sarsaparilla, carob, and stevia. A slightly more unfamiliar but I believe a rather good company called Synergy Worldwide includes kava in their Men’s Formula for reducing stress. Nature’s Sunshine incorporates kava as a single herb encapsulated in their line of products. They promote it for nervousness a feeling of utter contentment and a greater sense of well being. They also say that it helps reduce normal anxiety without impairing mental function, that it works on the central nervous system and promotes relaxation to people experiencing occasional anxiety, and that it may help promote more restful sleep in those struggling with occasional restlessness. They also state that it helps relax muscles. I also have included kava in my Rest and Relaxation formula to reduce anxiety attacks and promote restful sleep. I expand more on my formula in the section about personal experience. I believe that as herbalists become more acquainted with this herb you will find kava becoming more prevalent as an anxiety/stress reducer and sleep aid as well as an aide for couple and family counseling.
